Some people have said when a guy asks a girl he is close to about he is looking for a girlfriend, it means he meant you. I know it’s a silly question but one of my guy friends constantly brings this up and my response has always been “go on dating apps” “i’m rooting for you” “you should look for a girl at work” etc. And he would proceed to follow up with if i am dating anyone and i just find his behavior odd when he knows the answer to his question but repeats it whenever we meey

Could be that he is hoping you will offer yourself; or it really is what it is and he genuinely asks you to help him find someone.

Seeing that you've mentioned he keeps repeating it... yeah, I think he wants you.

So what i’m confused about is he has been on this topic for a few months now. That’s why i mentioned he always repeats and I don't know why he repeats the same thing. In my brain, i genuinely thought he wants to find a girl so i do the best supporter as a friend. Some of my other friends also told me it seems like this is a indirect way of saying he is interested in me. How does the question “can you help me find a girlfriend” translate to “i like you?” Lol. Maybe i am super dense/naive as told from my friends but i just can't wrap my head how i would have thought of it as him possibly hitting on me lol

Nah... don't put it on yourself straight away and just brush it off as 'He is clumsy with the whole situation' 😉

When I was younger, this is exactly something I could have done too... and then I am surprised because I couldn't get the girl? It's not her fault that she didn't get my 'subtle hints' lol

Ahh i see lol! I have one last question. While he asks about my type/relationship he would say “oh i’m like that too.” Or “i’m pretty handsome” as a joke and then says “you can find a much for handsome man when you travel here or go there.” These comments gave me mixed signals bc it sounds like he doesn't care if i do end up dating someone and he he would sometimes call me sis or dude. It makes me feel like he is not interested in me even though the questions above i mentioned makes it sound like he does

We still try to appear as cool as possible and not come over desperate or something; we do feel we have some sort of image to maintain 😉

If he says "you can find a much for handsome man when you travel here or go there" he is probably fishing for a compliment from you. Something like "Why would I want someone else if I have you?" 😉

LOL yes you are so right. He always seem to fish for compliments bc he says other weird things like that. Thank you for your insight!
