What does it mean when a guy keeps asking you to hang out?

This guy has asked me to hang out a few times this summer since we both don't have jobs but recently I got one. Before I got my job I messaged him and told him I was free and he never responded to make plans but the other day He messaged me and said that he noticed my Facebook status about my job. He asked me about my job and then he asked if it took up my whole day. When I told him it basically did his response was "s**t I guess I would need to make a reservation if I wanted to hang out " and then I told him I wasn't free until my job ended and he was like "s**t well let me know if you still want to chill"

hmm.. wow! This sounds so much like a guy I know AND a situation I'm in with him.

I had a private lesson this day, the day after we met to 'hang out' and he was like :

'seriously? private lessons? damnn =(( that's not good! '

He keeps wanting to hang out and never really wants to go out... =/ I have no idea what his deal is.. In fact he'd flirt a lot when he texts and everything but that's pretty much where it starts and ends. I'm having a feeling that he might be a player.. so he will take things slow and keeps his options open, in fact in your case he didn't text back when you texted him first. But other than that... I don't know really... I mean if a guy seriously wants to date you then why the hell would he want to hang out and chill? wish I could follow up to this...

Hang out and chill. What he can't ask you out on a date? This is a red flag he is not serious and only wants FWB or a hook up. No, NEXT.

It means he likes you and is interested in getting to know you better.So find time for him at some point if you can That is,If you are interested in him too.It sounds like he is being patient for now though...

It means he likes you and wants to go out with you. Although if it's because he wants to get to know you or if it's to get in your pants, is impossible to say.
