Why would a girl wave and say hello to me from the elevator?

I was standing on one of floors talking to someone in the lift lobby. The lift stopped and doors open and there was a few people in the lift. She was in the elevator and I wasn't getting in, she was looking at me and moment I recognised her she smiled, waved and said hello.

Because that is what normal people do. At least normal friendly people would do that. I'm a bit surprised that you are in your 30s and couldn't work this one out on your own. She was just being polite and friendly. It almost reads as if you wanted it to mean more or at least that is what you are hoping. I hate to break it to you but it doesn't. Not every little thing someone does has some hidden meaning behind it. Not everything means more than the most simple explanation. Don't read into it more than I think you are or already did. I usually take things to mean the most obvious explanation and not something more.

Look I don’t know her way of thinking maybe she found you attractive but it’s also very possible she’s just being friendly. If you don’t know her I would just assume it’s friendliness and move on. If you’re genuinely into her and you see her again maybe try to strike a conversation up and express it.

The people saying she’s in love I don’t know if they’re trolling or not. But if she doesn’t know you it’s possible she likes you but love is a strong word especially in the romantic sense of it. Maybe she’s a Christian and loves everyone and that’s great.

If you don’t get a lot of social interaction maybe you’re overthinking every little interaction. Which is normal to do but I would suggest talking to people and trying to find some friends to hang out with.

It basically didn't mean anything. Just a regular greeting like "good morning" or "how are you today."

Think of it like this, if she were a man would you have interpreted it as him hitting on you?

Remember, don't overthink shit. That's the worst thing you could do.

If she were to physically touch you then maybe it'd be a sign of interest, but not as you described.

And by touch I don't mean handshakes or taps on the shoulder. More like hugging or touching your arm/holding you arm.
