Dancing at a club, why did she do this?

So I was at a club with some friends last night and ended up dancing with some girl who was there with a group of her friends.

About 15 minutes went by and then all of the sudden another girl from her friend group makes her way over to us, elbows me in the side and says “Go away.” I was confused by this but didn’t want to start any problems so I just left the dance floor to wait for my friends.

A few minutes later my friend, who had been dancing with another girl from that same group came out and told me the same girl had done the same thing to him.

As we were leaving I saw the girl I was dancing with again and she waved and said goodbye so as far as I know she wasn’t trying to avoid me or anything.

Finally I just want to say that I’m always respectful when approaching women at bars/clubs and never approach anyone who appears visibly intoxicated or obviously disinterested. So, I don’t think that was the issue either.

This is the first time I have experienced a situation like this so I’m just looking for any insight on why this may have happened.

Please don’t put any excess thought behind that encounter. She could be one of those friends who’s hating because no guys are dancing with or approaching her. It may also be a thing that she wants to have a girls night and her friends were off with guys and kinda leaving her alone. I’ve dealt with both scenarios many times over the years with different female friends. But regardless of her issue, it has nothing to do with you and your friends’ character.

It is hard to be sure based only on this info but my guess is that she wanted it to be a girls night out and didn’t want her friends spending their time w guys instead.
