A girl at my work who I'm starting to like asked me if I lived alone mid conversation to which I replied "I live with my girlfriend and her sister"... which I do

She also told me last week that we should catch up for drinks after work.

Did I mess up by telling her I live with my girlfriend?

She also has a boyfriend and I'm a firm believer of not s**ing where you eat but but I can sense a strong connection and tension between us.

It's just a question. It doesn't mean a thing. You are both in relationships so what is the bother anyhow. You ask did you mess this up? Mess what up? Talking? Nope you were honest about where you lived and who you live with. That said you give off the vibe that you want to cheat with this girl. Why make an account to ask if you messed up (presumably by telling this girl you have a girlfriend)? I don't think your intentions are in the right place and you are absolutely correct that you shouldn't "shit where you eat". It's a crude statement but a true one. There is nothing good to come of dating a coworker and even less dating or messing around with one that has a boyfriend. He might pound you into the ground when he finds out you're hitting on his girl. I would if I were him. Do you not have any faith to your own girl?

However, if you state that you start liking that girl while you are in a relationship and that you say that you are not a believer of doing your business where you eat, that seems like only half the truth.

Both you and her are in a relationship and that thought should not even have popped up in your mind. Basically, you are already thinking of getting rid of your girlfriend and checking whether you have a chance to get in that work colleague's pants. That is how your question comes across.
