1 yDefine 'safe'... you're as 'safe' as ANY other creature in Nature.
If you aren't 'seated at life's table, ... you're 'on the menu'!
Take it up with your Deity--- 'Society' is an artificial enforced construct overlain on YOUR habitat.
HOW you apply YOUR skills to YOUR environment... determines YOUR personal 'safety'.
Used to teach women self-defense at PSU back in the 1970's.
Predators learn to exploit naivete' and/or 'stupid'. "Praise Chee-zus"
MUCH to be said for 'ferocity' (EVERYbody CAN bleed!)ot the size of the dog in the fight, but instead the amount of 'fight' in the dog!
... The risk of injury vs. the potential PERSONAL 'gain' of the encounter.
BE 'expensive' to any Predator~ ;)10 Reply

1 ynot as dangerous as many would, but that also depends on where you live. Its not safe if you live in the slums of Rio

1 yDepends on where you live alone as a single woman. I remember back when I was too small to remember there was a rapist who targeted women that lived alone in the rural parts of town. The only reason he got caught is because one of them was a lawyer who bit a chunk of his flesh out of his body and hid it under her bed before he could realize what she had done with it as he was able to erase any evidence he had been in the house. I think she was like his 8th victim, so rural homes probably aren’t the safest but I would consider it safer than a city where someone can find their way into your building, on your floor, and despite living with 15 other families, there’s no one to witness or stop him.

I think it depends on where you want to live?
Maybe don't constantly advertise your life and whereabouts on social media so people won't know what you as a single woman get up to or figure out a routine.11 Reply- 1 y

1 yWhere? Like what country? Cause in the third world being alone is virtually a death sentence for women. Certainly a rape sentence.
If it's the US then it's incredibly safe. It does depend on the state, city, and neighborhood a little. But even in the worst neighborhoods it's not like every girl there is being raped or killed every day. And if you take even a modicum of precautions you will most likely be fine.
But the really dangerous places are not the norm. I. Any halfway decent area you're basically exactly as safe as a man living alone. Here's something to try. Look up crime statistics for your area and narrow by rapes and compare the rate of rapes in your area with the national average. If it's higher where you are. Consider moving. If it's lower, your probably fine.
10 ReplyIts neighborhood based. Some places are generally more unsafe than others. Though people assume living with another person is much safer but murders are often perpetrated by someone known to the victims.
Regardless of gender though, If you live alone then you need some kind of self defense to ensure you are safe in the case of a home intruder or attacker.
20 Reply580 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. It's pretty simple to reason most women aren't randomly attacked when alone in their house.
Otherwise you wouldn't have so many women do so, and there would be much more media around that. It's not a typical thing for any random attack on a house tbh.
I live on a super dodgy street and in fact someone was stabbed on this street months ago but it was a targeted attack thug life thing not some random act of violence.10 Reply
Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yNot as safe with a man or multiples. There seems to be a theme among people to harass single woman and or all female households. Having a man in the home does squash that disturbance and lower crime against them. Every woman should learn self defense though. Generally.

nice
It depends on a lot of factors such as where you live. But even being married, you’re not going to be with him everywhere you go and every second of every day, so I can’t see how marriage is the determining factor on if you’re safe or not.
20 ReplyI suppose it depends on where you live, state and city. A single woman should be careful with all the freaks wondering around in society... really ANY woman should be cautious in today's world... i watch what I am doing and going, also.

1 yI'm going to say what everyone else here is saying.
Depends on the place.
Or, you know, if women actually had a man in the house and didn't hate men theyd be safer regardless of where they happen to be. But what do I know?20 Reply

1 yIt depends on where you live, but a single woman living alone is the easiest possible target for a criminal, especially if she lives in an democrat area with high amounts of crime and low rates of legal gun ownership.

some people are unsafe bc they're stupid lol10 Reply I mean if you have ur priorities in order. And you know how to defend urself, and get away out of any situations you'll be pretty safe.
10 Reply8.5K opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. Depends on where in you live. We don't even lock doors here.

@Nikki1989 I used to never lock the front door either, and really, have no reason to do that. Probably just a 'paranoid' feeling on my part. We live in the dead end of a cul-de-sac, and it is very secure and private. My neighbors never lock their side door, next to their drive.
1 yI’d say pretty safe. I wouldn’t volunteer that information, though. You never know who’s listening. Not to scare you. Just saying.

1 yTotally depends your country. In the U. S. or more socially developed country for example is safe.
In a poverty stricken nation it can be dangerous.10 Reply 6K opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. It depends on the neighborhood. I would highly recommend having home protection if you know what I mean and an alarm. Like Brinks
