My girlfriend doesn't tell most people she's bald, is that normal?

She wears a wig and doesn't tell most people, she only recently told me that she was, only her friends knew beforehand.

Why is it anyone's business but hers? That's her choice to share that or not. Can you imagine starting off a conversation with that? If someone walked up to me and said "Hi, I'm Becky and I'm actually bald"... I'd be like oooookay. Like what am I going to do with that information? It makes no difference to me that a person is bald. So I don't understand why you are concerned about her not announcing this to the world. That is her choice and perhaps she doesn't want people to know. What is more perplexing to me is how you don't just straight up as her why. She's your girlfriend. How are internet stranger going to know the reason when you could just ask the source?

She wants hair but she can't grow it, she started balding at an early age.

I didn't know for a while, she had me fooled. She told me before we slept together for the first time and took her wig off, I ultimately didn't care and slept with her without it on.

Reminds me of a girl I used to know. She had a fake leg (i think she was born with only one) and I never knew it `til I was hanging out with her one day and she put her feet up on the stone wall for a while and I noticed that her right foot looked like it was plastic or she was wearing silky pantyhose. She saw me staring at her foot (trying to figure out if it WAS plastic) and asked what I was looking at. I said her foot looks like plastic. She said, it is! She was born with only one but, having a missing leg got her a job as a roadie for Cheap Trick because it allowed her to get around up in the rafters to help with the lights where no one else could go. She never used a cane and walked around just as well as anybody else.

She still wears the wig in public, I'm the only person she takes it off around since she learned I was still attracted to her without it.

I guess she needs someone to trust and who she can be herself around. Besides, there's loads of women these days shaving their heads, for some reason! I seriously doubt anybody would think too badly of her for it.
