Why do some have an adverse view of wigs, toupees, weaves etc for men and women with hairloss? they look very real now days and should be normalized?

Wigs, toupees etc have come so far in the last couple decades with seriously affordable options available to order directly. Whenever I hear someone talk ill of hair replacements it's always 'oh well they look bad' no, you only notice the bad ones.

I guess to me it's just always been baffling why it's at all frowned upon for someone who loses their hair to go that route. It's become more acceptable for women over time (as it should be) but for men SOME still fight saying it's vain, insecure, or feminine. That's just outdated masculinity on display there. Ironically most saying this are other men too. Look nothing wrong with a guy who shaved his head but not everyone can pull off that look and not everyone wants to have their style options inherently limited by one shaved haircut for the rest of their lives.

I've just never understood why in a world where we routinely replace teeth, have cosmetic grafting for scars etc, so many artificial procedures out there, someone at some point looked at hair loss and felt that was different. For men and women both. It's not different. It's a mindset culturally instilled nothing more.

(And for those who say 'oh well it's normal for men to lose hair' it doesn't matter. It's normal to lose teeth as we age and replace those with painstaking expense to look real. Just because something happens frequently doesn't mean it's any more inherently palatable for the one who's experiencing the issue)

Then elaborate why it’s different? If your opinion is consistent I assume you also won’t replace a lost tooth not needed for chewing, or wear cologne as that isn’t natural either?

I have no problems with opinions but yours is likely inconsistent. Why is a wig bad? And if you’d stop seeing a girl because she wore one then that’s just laughable.
