It depends on the context. A poem can be a rather romantic gift depending on how well done it is, and if he’s proud of his work then I don’t see a huge issue with him reading it aloud. However, if he just does it without asking me or doing it as a performative act that diminishes any joy I would have taken from it.

Depends on the poem. If it was sweet and became like a proposal letter or something like that, then I wouldn't be embarrassed at all! If it was something else though like just a regular poem, then I would be very embarrassed for him to share it in public. In private, it would be SUPER sweet, but otherwise, I'd be so red and so embarrassed.
