Okay I was at a coffee shop and I noticed the barista seemed to be in kind of a bad mood so I told her to smile more and she got really mad at me.

Do you know why she didn't smile? Maybe she had every reason to be sad. Your behavior was not only rude, but completely inappropriate. Next time you're there, apologize for your behavior.
