Yo, that's kind of a weird thing for your mom to say. I'm not totally sure why she would say it like that, to be honest.
It kind of sounds like maybe she was feeling a little passive-aggressive or something? Like, she was making food for herself, but then wanted to make it seem like she was being generous by offering you some. Almost like she was testing you or trying to get some kind of reaction out of you.
Or maybe she was just trying to communicate that the food wasn't necessarily made with you in mind, so if you wanted some you'd have to ask for it. But the way she worded it seems a little off.
Honestly, it's hard to say for sure what her intentions were. Moms can be kind of tricky sometimes, you know? They don't always say exactly what they mean or have the clearest communication.
If I had to guess, it might have been a subtle way of her saying the food was for her, not you, so you'd have to ask if you wanted some. But the wording was a bit passive-aggressive.
I wouldn't worry about it too much though, dude. Moms can be weird sometimes. Just take it in stride and don't read too much into it. If you want the food, just ask her for some. No need to overthink it.
