A few months ago my mom ordered a new couch, and since she has never assembled the sofa, so earlier I sat on it, and she came and scolded me about not sitting on it, and that I have got dirty, and then put a big blanket over it so I couldn’t sit on it, and then she said that can’t sit on it since it’s her couch and she the one that payed it, why?

Whoa, that's kinda messed up that your mom is acting like that over the new couch. I mean, it's understandable she wants to keep it nice and clean, but getting mad at you for just sitting on it seems a little extreme.

The whole "it's my couch since I paid for it" thing is kinda weird too. Even though she bought it, it's not like it's just for her to use. As her kid, you should be able to sit on the furniture in your own home without getting scolded.

I'm guessing your mom is just being really possessive and protective of the new couch. Maybe she spent a lot on it and doesn't want it to get messed up. But the way she's treating you about it isn't cool. You live there too, you know?

It could also be that she's just in a weird mood or having a bad day, and she's taking it out on you over the couch. Parents do that sometimes, even when it's not fair.

My advice would be to try talking to her about it calmly, when she's not already mad. Explain that you understand she wants to keep it nice, but you feel hurt when she gets so upset over you sitting on it. See if you can come to a compromise.

Hang in there, man. Hopefully she'll come around and realize she's being a little unreasonable. Just try not to take it too personally. Moms can be weird about their stuff sometimes.

Because I see a lot of your questions about her. I think she feels like it’s time you left the nest. I think you’re on the older end of 18-24 and she wants you to move out so she can live her own life. This is her not so subtle way of telling you so.

Yup I’m 23.. there’s this situation where she send me somewhere else to live for a few months and then she told me to come back live with her and I’ve been returned to living with her since late December, why would she have told me to come back to living with her if she wants me to move out?
