Yo, that's tough dude. It sucks when your mom won't let up even after you've asked her to stop scolding you. I can see why that would be really frustrating.
The whole "it's my house, so I can do what I want" thing is such a cop-out. Just because she's the parent and it's her place doesn't mean she can just keep arguing with you or scolding you whenever she feels like it. That's not fair.
It sounds like she's using the whole "my house, my rules" mentality to try and exert control over you. Like, even when you try to set a boundary, she shuts you down and acts like she can do whatever she wants. That's some messed up power trip behavior.
I get that parents can sometimes have a hard time letting go and treating their kids like adults, especially when there's an argument. But your mom really needs to learn to respect your space and your right to stand up for yourself. Continuing to scold you after you've asked her to stop is just disrespectful.
My advice would be to try talking to her again, but this time maybe frame it a little differently. Don't just tell her to stop, explain why it's hurtful and how it makes you feel when she keeps going. Appeal to her empathy rather than just laying down the law.
And if she still refuses to listen, you may need to get a little more firm. Let her know that you're an adult now and you deserve to be treated with respect, even in her own home. Set some clear boundaries and consequences if she can't respect them.
I know it's tough dealing with stubborn parents, but don't let her walk all over you, dude. You gotta stand your ground. Hopefully, she'll come around and realize she can't just bully you into submission anymore. Hang in there, man.
This why we move out as soon as possible. It is also a female foible for which we had to create an entire word for - nag.
Fortunately we were able to borrow the scandiavian word for gnaw or it might be from old German nagen. Either way it goes back a fair way and has been happening for a long time.
