What is it about women that we guys fail to understand?

I think we've all been in situations where we really struggle to keep up with you girls. Be it in a romantic relationship or a friendship, there are things we fail to grasp, even if they are crystal clear to you. Maybe it's the subbtle signals you send out, hoping we will notice them, maybe it's the common sentence 'See, you never listen to me'.

What could we do better? Where do we fail?

Everything. They want to be independent but they want you to take care of them. They want to tell you how successful they are in the work force but you need to pay for everything. No matter what your job is or their job…. Their job is harder.
The thing to always remember, we think differently and that will never change. So a happy girlfriend/wife, happy life.
Just make her happy, and keep her safe! And know that you’ll never win that fight so give in and let her win.

Most men have no issues with women at all. I wouldn't judge anything based on the constant crap you read online, especially here. Most men are not so backward, insecure, or immature.

Women all have a private narrative running in their heads constantly. She has day dreamed scenarios and convicted a guy of things he's never even thought about. Her "innocent" conversation is an attempt to expose you for crimes against her she manufactured in her delusions. Maybe it was inspired by her friend's situation. Maybe it was triggered by an article she read in the latest issue of Cosmo. Maybe it's just her own out of control insecurities. But she WILL manufacture her own drama.

My ex wife did this all the time. I'd say something and she respond with some wild tangent. I'd stop her and ask where that came from. 95% of the time it was that narrative she had running in her head. "Well I thought". Or, "I assumed". That has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. She had a complete novel built up in her head. Please just respond to the straightforward question I asked. There is no agenda. The is no gotcha. I just want to know where you want to go for dinner tonight.

But the main one seems to be that women are just as capable of logic as guys, that we’re not “just being emotional” when we talk about feelings and we aren’t “spiraling” when we state our perspective about something that seems wrong. There’s always a reason for our reactions and at times the guy doesn’t see how his actions impacted things… can’t tell where he went wrong… can’t see past the tip of his own dick… and doesn’t bother trying, esp with a woman.


In cases of loving relationships a guy will put in the effort to TRY and listen and follow his gal’s thought process, but sometimes that takes time bc the perspectives are very different.

It's a little ridiculous that a woman would EXPECT a man to TRY to listen and follow his gal's "thought process." I'm not saying that she doesn't have one... I think she's incredibly intelligent, but she insists that she's smarter than him, and for her to expect the dumber one, the man, to follow her thought process is ridiculous... I do NOT think that men are smarter, nor do I think that women are smarter, but I, along with many of my male friends, soundly reject the idea that we are dumber than women. You shouldn't want someone dumber than you to "understand" you!!

There are some unbelievably brilliant answers here about the mentality of women. They really do claim they want independence, and then want the guy to take care of them. And this is one that really gets me... they insist that they are smarter than the guy... women always think they're smarter than men, but then they insist that the dumber one (the guy) take charge and act decisive and even plan dates... well, the dumber one shouldn't be doing that stuff... the smarter one should be. The smarter one should lead the situation in any walk of life, and for women (who claim to be smarter than men) to insist that they follow the lead of the dumber one... is completely absolutely backwards.

Sometimes I have the feeling that a woman may ask a question and that she's just trying to find out if your answer matches the answer she is expecting from you.
