Comfort Zone vs Change. Which one are you mostly comfortable with and why?

Ha, I'm calling people out on this. Most people do not actively go out of their comfort zone. We have a lot of big talkers on GaG lol. We all know you don't grow much in the comfort zone, and change is where you improve, but most of us do not seek it. It's human psychology to pick the lane of least resistance in life.

For me, definitely comfort zone. It's held me back a lot in life. Every time I try to step out of it, I feel overwhelmed by the scenario and jump right back into the comfort zone. It's tough, but I'll make things happen.

Chaos please. Existing in a comfort zone that never changes and never challenges me is like sitting and waiting to die. I don't understand how people can do that. Struggle builds character and critical thinking skills. Failure is a great teacher and it puts the wins in perspective. I don't need perfection. I'll take a 75% solution if that's what I can get.

There's already too much change going on in America 🇺🇸 that I can't keep up with it anymore!!

When we have a President who only sleeps 4 hours a night and then he's awake again for 20 hours getting so many things done that he wants change to, well, every day it's something new with him and his huge staff is working tirelessly to get it all done - I honestly don't know how they can do all that he wants done. He wears me out.

Meeeh. I like a balance. Comfort Zone (CZ) is a jumping off point. I do like for a guy to meet me in my CZ till he's part of it. And I like to offer the same thing to a guy. From there we can see what's outside our respective CZs that we're both willing to try out.

Comfort zone of course. Given the fact that I am very rigid with limited flexibility and I have a preset mind, I am also highly resistant towards "CHANGE" so yes being in my comfort zone is what always works best and for me protecting myself is more important than experiencing and exploring life and its different aspects.

Going outside my comfort zone would automatically mean I would be in a uncharted territory, it would mean I have to let go of my thinking, I have to let go of my preset mind. It would mean I have to take risks if I am to explore different aspects of life. Basically I have to change into a different type of person overall and that is not something I will be happy doing.

Hence I am fine with the consequences but I won't change and I won't go out of my comfort zone.

While the comfort zone is naturally more comfortable, change is better for us. It helps us grow and become better. I will be honest in saying being in my comfort zone is more comforting, it's no longer something I aim for especially in this stage of my life. Change is necessary.

I’m mostly comfortable with a balance , staying in my comfort zone for stability, but embracing change when it offers growth.

Comfort feels safe and grounding, but change challenges you, teaches lessons, and opens opportunities you wouldn’t get otherwise.

our brains are made to keep us alive, not make us happy. As long as we have existed as a species its been all about safety, how to stay alive. In the last few hundred years things have changed...

Now our brains are learning change is safety and comfort zones are not. We are trying to rewrite thousands of years of programming in a single lifetime... thats not easy.

Comfort breeds laziness and complacency - change uncontrolled, leads to indiscipline and risk.

I hate both equally and always ensure that downtime isn't mere comfort, and that change is always for a defined goal and purpose.

most people won't want to go out of their comfort zone unless they have some sort of condition like adhd that makes them unable to go without novelty.

there is a reason we call it COMFORT zone.

Change. Being in the bubble for too long is not only boring, but will cause you to lose perspective. For instance imagine if you was in prison for 12 years. The world changed around you during that stretch, people around you most likely moved on, some probably died. Everything has drastically changed like taking the worst time travel trip. Not a great analogy, but there are people that hole themselves up for a grip of time and then wonder why everything is so different.

But I also do enjoy some comfort from time to time with a predictable outcome
