Why does my sister in law humiliates me in front of everyone "jokingly"?

I hate it she's gorgeous i dont what I've done to her she always comes off as a hater and jealous her brother which is my boyfriend even laughs at me when she insult me like its a joke when its not. It hurts my feelings and she literally makes me sound like im stupid because she also made a comment on that and he laughed.

That doesn’t sound like harmless joking.

When someone repeatedly “teases” in a way that targets you, especially in front of others, it’s usually about power or insecurity not humor.

The part that matters most is your boyfriend laughing.
If he doesn’t protect your dignity in the room, that’s the real issue.

You don’t have to match her energy, but you do deserve respect.

I’d address it calmly with him first , not emotionally, just clearly.
How he responds will tell you a lot.

Joking insults are the hardest thing to deal with. If you react negatively the social response tends to be against you for not taking a joke.

You could respond in kind but if you are a nice person, most likely you don't have much practice at this and certainly not as much as her. I think you will lose a tit for tat.

You could ask your boyfriend to support you and tell her to stop but I suspect she won't or will just be a little more subtle. Letting sister-in-law know she is getting at you is gas on the fire.

At some point she will go too far and that is your time to give her both barrels and reload.

Or just refuse to go to functions she'll be at. That is probably the easiest course for you and puts pressure on you boyfriend to stop it.
