Is it normal for women to openly insult men they find unattractive?

For eg: you're leaving the restroom at a restaurant and as your heading down the hallway 2 girls around yor age are walking towards you. One says to the other openly, "I guess they ran out of cute guys". Is it normal to constantly be talked poorly about in any setting?
