I personally don't think I could be with an intimidating type of guy. That wouldn't work for me feeling like that. Maybe some girl would view a guy that is intimidating as safety. Since she does, she may assume everyone else does?
As for the other guy it could just be that she likes that type of guy or he fits her personality well, opposite or not. That would be a much better fit for me I think.
