Girl stopped replying before our first date but still views my posts—what should I do?

Okay so i was texting this girl all week. She was consistently texted me back. We matched on facebook dating and texted. Was suppose to take her to the movies and dinner yesterday but never heard from her. She flew back from a bachelorette party yesterday morning and said she needed to take a nap first when she got home. She texted me yesterday morning but haven’t heard from her since… i was the last one to send a message to her. Last night, she liked my tiktok picture of me and viewed my snap story. What should i do? Should i give her space and let her reach out or?

I know a lot of people kinda pretty much say goodbye to her, but I truly think what matters is listening to your gut. Is this type of communication okay with you? You guys did finalize date plans, right? Some people may just ease in after a trip and date has already been finalize. I think modern dating also discourage double msging, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong showing someone you’re thinking of them or double checking if the date is still on. We don’t know her and how she’s like when she’s in a post trip mode. Personally, I’ll play devil’s advocate, I’d give her the benefit of the doubt she’s probably just tired, low energy, and still showing she’s interested by liking your stuff… I think it’s just hard when suddenly communication change and our anxiety/insecurity gets to us… but I think if you guys truly had a good connection during texting and finalize that date already, I don’t think it hurts to be open and asked if the date was still gonna be on. Or even double messaging her bc you missed her. But of course if this just isn’t your style and you know you’d want more communication.. it’s also your call on what you’re okay or not okay with. Whatever decision you make is the right decision because you know what you want.

Not only would I give her space, I’d question pursuing her altogether. Don’t get me wrong, I completely understand being jet lagged, or if maybe she intended to go out with you but ultimately was too tired — this is all understandable. But communication is key, and it only would’ve taken a brief moment to tell you there’s been a change of plans. That way you can do something else with your time rather than being on standby, unsure of whether you are hanging out or not. For her to have been leisurely scrolling through her social media tells me that she was up and awake, so why not text you back? Hell, even liking your content without having reached back out to you is pretty rude. Sure we could assume that maybe she felt bad and wasn’t sure how to cancel, or hell, maybe she’s talking to someone else from the Facebook dating and that’s got her attention more. In any case, she could’ve and should’ve said something. Not doing so could be an indication of what you will have to deal with going forward, and being disappointed and/or blown off is a huge thumbs down for me.

Definitely seen this kind of thing play out before. With myself and other dudes. I will go ahead and rip the Band-Aid off for you and tell you to drop her. When someone is really serious about you, they will keep up communication with you, and I think she probably lost interest or started talking to someone else.

But I will say one thing, and this is not to offend you, but your texts are a tad bit cloying - which is okay, a lot of guys kind of do this when there's a possibility that they will start dating a girl. I've done it in my own past. Guys think they need to constantly have a reply or need to message her because they're afraid she'll lose interest, not realizing that always being readily available to talk or just messaging her all the time really just pushes her away. I can't say for sure if that's what happened in your case, but I know it is a common one.

But you tell us what's happened. I see you posted this question 2 days ago, so any update? Did she ever respond?

Do not accept this disrespect. She is not being honest with you. It is clear that she does not want to go on a date with you, but instead of telling you how she truly feels what she truly thinks she ghosted you. This happens all the time. I say don't accept this. You should have more self respect and not accept this treatment from this bitch.

Up to you know if you want to believe something else. But the facts are very clear and they dont look good. Why should it be like a Sherlock Holmes mystery if you want to date someone.

Honestly, I wouldn’t panic or send her a bunch of messages. Looking at the conversation, she was communicating with you, told you she’d message you when she got home, and she did reach out after landing. She also just came back from a trip, so there could genuinely be other things going on.

At the same time, don’t confuse her viewing your posts with actual effort. Someone can watch your stories and still not be ready to go on a date. You’ve already shown her that you’re interested, so I’d give her a little space and let her come to you this time. If you don’t hear from her after a few days, you can send one simple, relaxed message like, “Hey, hope you got some rest. Still up for that dinner/movie sometime?” Then leave it there.

If she responds positively and helps make an actual plan, great. If she gives vague excuses, keeps disappearing, or never responds, I’d move on. You shouldn’t have to chase someone into going on a first date with you. Give her room to show you whether she actually wants to be there.

Match her energy and leave the ball in her court. You already sent the last text, so reaching out again will just look desperate. Watching stories or liking TikToks takes zero effort if she wants to reschedule or make plans, she knows where to find you. Focus on your own thing for now.
