Guys, getting caught staring? What do you usually do?

Well, we all know that when a guy is staring at you for a little bit too long it's a good sign that he might be interested. What I've read on this site is that when you catch him staring he usually looks away. But does it mean when he smiles at you instead?

I noticed that a guy was staring at me when he thought I didn't see, so I looked over at him. He looked a bit panicked at first and seemed like he didn't know how to react, but he didn't look away. Instead, he just gave me a big smile.

Does that mean that he's more friendly than interested?

awesome question. I've had a situation kind of like this one: I like this guy (and he knows it) (and when I told him 1/2 year ago he had no feelings back) and well, of course I look at him. but sometimes when I go look I find him already looking at me, and wee look into each others eyes for a prolonged moment, both smile, and turn away. this has happened often enough for me not to think anything about it. but yeah, the smile. that's what confuses me.

No, that means he's a confident sonofabitch. We don't stare at girls and think about being their friends. We meet girls that are cool and some of them become our friends. We stare at girls we find attractive. I have a question: What was the effect of this one you?

Thanks! Well, I guess it had a positive effect on me. It made me think about it more afterward and I analyzed it quite a bit. When a guy stares and then looks away as if nothing, I tend to just shrug and I don't care about it so much. Also, he's a goodlooking guy and pretty hard to get, so I couldn't understand why he would give me that kind of attention. So, I guess that made me doubt even more if it was positive or just nothing/friendly. Usually guys just look away, in my experience.

Would it still have been impressive if he was attractive enough to date but maybe not as attractive as this guy?

Yeah, it would have. It doesn't really matter how attractive the guy is. I just meant that because I think he is so attractive it made me even more confused.
