Why do couples stare into each others' eyes?

When I look in his eyes, I don't want to look anywhere else. I start to get lost in the colors, and even on the worst days that I can't take, I start to remember why I ever told him I love him, and I get this warm feeling in my cheeks, no matter the temperature and I can tell he's smiling so I have to hope it's because I'm not the only one remembering all the good, and the sad, and the wonderful moments I don't ever want to lose so I always have them to relive in my mind. I hope he's thinking that I'm beautiful in every way and that he's lucky to be in my life and have me the way he does for however long that will be. I hope that when he looks into my eyes he will want to keep me there forever and never lose me so he can always be happy, because that's exactly what I'm thinking about him. And all that thinking takes a long time, so that's why we can stare into each others eyes, and that's why we can't look away.

Aaaww yeah we do. The last time I can remember, we were kissing and hugging each other goodbye. It builds up intense chemistry to kiss and stop, hold each other tight and share a stare for a few seconds. It also leaves a little gap when you can say whatever intimate thing you wish to share, such as "I love you" or "I'm happy we spent some time together". Something like that. Usually it's the ultimate thing to do in between intimate moves so to let your SO know that you feel strongly for him. Generally, you start looking at each other because you love one another and then you get lost in each others eyes, not caring about whatever's going on because all you need to know is you love them and they love you.

To state the obvious, life is not a fairy tale nor a romantic comedy. Nonetheless, there are moments where you can find yourself looking into each others eyes. They're not scheduled, they just happen when there aren't words to express how you feel because everything you would say or could say is unnecessary, your partner can see exactly how you feel. The eyes are the windows to the soul, to say the least. While it seems like it lasts forever, I've never experienced this for much longer than a minute or two. Maybe that's a long time to stare into each others eyes, but if you've reached the stage where you find yourself staring into your partners eyes, its not likely to get awkward.

Our eyes bridge the gap between what we "see" and feel on the inside, to what is actually taking place on the outside. Our eyes give allows intense strimulation. If the woman I love looks into my eyes, its as if she's reaching into me and grabbing my sould. Its difficult to describe, if you haven't done it, its hard to portray.
