Why are sweaty girls at the gym attractive?

Why are they attractive and a turn on? I always sweat a lot, even my chest/neck area, and my face turns kind of reddish, but I feel nasty about it. So, why is such thing a turn on?

First off, odds are, if a woman is in a gym, she's already attractive, or at least she has an attractive figure. In addition, most likely if at the gym, she's probably gonna be wearing relatively tight clothes. It also shows the opposite gender that she cares about her health and looks.

But the real reason is what's within your subconcious. While sweating, especially in a gym setting, our bodies release a significant amount of "pheromones" in our sweat. Pheromones are the basic units of human attraction...when you see someone you find attractive, you are sensing their pheromones. Conciously, you have no idea about what you're sensing, but your subconcious is judging the person based upon what your neurological system is sensing.

Therefore, its a "turn on" to us when you sweat because of the increased relaease of pheromones. In addition, while we work out, our testosterone levels increase dramatically, especially when weight lifting. Testosterone, if you don't know, is the basic hormone behind our sex drive. Combine the two and you got quite the turn on lol

Lol, some "psychology major!" Anyone can do a search online and know why sweat is sometimes attractive. Pheromones also cannot explain all of it because same attraction occurs with images of women who might be sweating. So it has to be associations with physical activity in the mind of me or women. But also, a person who isn't attractive physically according to some standard of the observer, won't become attractive by sweating and releasing pheromones.

That theory is correct if you are close enough to perceive their pheromones by smell. But a guy can be 50 feet away from a woman and find her sexy because she's sweating. And the reason for that is simple. When people make love they often get sweaty. A man makes an association between her being sweaty and her being turned on.

The simple answer is because normally the only time a guy sees a girl sweating and flushed like that is during sex, so that association is there in his head. But it isn't ALWAYS attractive/sexy, necessarily; sometimes it's just a girl working out.

I sweat so much at the gym. My whole shirt is usually soaked by the time I leave and I can't see how that is a turn on. I don't think it is a turn off though. I mean I'm sure guys would like the fact that you are working out and staying fit. They can't hold sweating a lot against you when you're at the gym, everyone does it. If you aren't sweating when you workout then you aren't working hard enough. I don't know about it being a turn on... maybe because you look athletic and fit, but I think it is just seen as a normal thing. I mean when I see guys sweating at the gym I might think its hot because they look athletic and I like athletic guys...

There is nothing wrong with it. Infact a lot of guys seems it attractive. Same goes for me, I don't know maybe it has something to do with the psychology a girl who is sweating means she's hard-working active and can have a healthy offsprings.
