well if it is someone you see mostly everyday, you would notice when they were gone. In this case, it's a guy I work with.

just recently, I was in exactly that sort of situation. I had just met a lady, and a few days later I found out that she had been planning for weeks to visit some friends about 400 miles away. I was naturally not a huge fan of this, but I did not try to talk her out of it. as a matter of fact, her scheduled bus ride was cancelled, I drove her 300 mils one way to the meeting place with her friends. it was a log ride back alone, but I felt like I had given her ample evidence that I was interested in her and would go the extra mile for her (literally). I called her when I got home so she would know I made it home safely, and then waited until she called me a couple days later. she had mentioned that she would be gone for about 10 days, this grew to be 2 weeks or more, possibly. I only called her if she requested it. after about a week, she called and said she was coming home, apparrently she was as miserable as I was wanting to see her, that was a few months ago, and we've been together ever since. and any future vacations will probably be together...

Yes, I suppose I'd miss them and think about them occasionally.

I don't think I'd contact them, they are on vacation anyways.

No. Maybe once just to see how it's going but usually not. It's their vacation and it isn't like we're dating so it's not my business to interrupt their fun.
