Why am I so approachable and why are people so nice to me?

does anybody get paranoid when strangers are nice to you or when random older people strike up conversations with you?

When I'm out in the city, hobos are really friendly to me and they open doors for me and stuff.

I don't think I'm that attractive, but not ugly either

...are average looking people more "approachable" and are people more friendlier to them out of pity or because they feel like those average looking people are more "grounded"?

It's weird, but I get a lot of older folks (mainly women) talking to me, like by older I mean, 20-30 years older. Does anybody else have the same "problem"...?

I go through the same thing. It's as if your living in this fantasy world, that no one speaks of because they all tell you how cruel the world could be, but your not getting that vibe at all. Honestly take it as a blessing. It will move mountains for you and you will become very happy and go far in your life because if it. I'm just an average guy and since I was young people just respected me, and I always questioned why. The answer is because we are nice. And not just normal nice, we honestly actually care and we are positive people. And as odd as it is, people can sense that. Hopefully this helped. Never change who you are. Stick with it and great things will come your way.

I think it has a lot more to do with demeanor than looks. I'm apparently one of those people that older folks latch on to and want to chat with. Sometimes you learn some interesting stuff from the old folks.
