How come I’m nice but people still seem to be very rude and judgmental towards me?

A few possibilities:

• You're not as nice as you think you are
• Your approach to being nice is abrasive
• You're forcing yourself on others when you're not wanted
• There's assholes out there who would hate puppies, nevermind girls minding their own busness

It's not a big deal. No one owes you being nice or respectful in turn (though they should offer a baseline of human respect, alas, we live in a society).


You're not going to be everyone's cup of tea, no matter how nice you are.


You're just gonna have to accept that fact.

Without more details it’s hard to say. What gives you the impression they are rude or judgmental? Is it something they say? Some action they take?


I think there is a certain percentage of people that are just rude and judgmental in general. But even if it feels like it’s the majority, it’s not. All you can do is continue to be nice, and focus on the positive people around you. :)

To be fair here - and I don't know anything about you or what your real life is like - you may not seem nice to them. You might think of yourself as nice, but in reality it could be that you say and do things that actually come off as maliciously sweet.
