I'm pretty sure that there are benefits and detriments to each, depending on the magnitude.

Many girls think that it's cure for a man to be shy, but if he's too shy she may lose interest or feel discouraged.

Girls love talking, so a man who can hold a good conversation is preferred by most, but if he talks so much that she wishes he had a mute button, then she'll probably lose interest in him fast.

A balance would be nice. Be shy when you honestly don't know what to say, but speak as a mature adult when you do have something to say.

I think most girls would like to date a more talkative guy...as long as she is interested in most of the topics he is talking about, of course.

Shy guys are cute, but it can get tiring to have to keep the conversation going yourself. I love outgoing guys who can make a conversation out of anything or even just stop a total stranger and say something to them. I like those kind of guys because they bring out the more outgoing person in me, since I can be a little awkward when I first meet people and if the guy is shy, it's going to be one quiet moment until one of us breaks the ice lol.

In my opinion, a talkative guy can talk himself into looking like an idiot because most times he might not think before he speaks. And a shy guy comes like a surprise wrapped in a box that just needs to be opened and that's when you see the depth of his mind.

for me I would say a talkative guy just because I'm a really quiet person so it would be nice to have him do a lot of talking

I like both for different reasons. I'm a rather shy person myself, so a talkative guy can be nice because he can keep the conversation going, whereas it might be a little forced with two shy people. But shy guys can be cute, and I tend to gain more confidence when I'm around other shy people so that can be good as well.

I like both. Shy is good but can make it hard to converse and really get to know each other. I probably prefer talkative, but I can't stand when a guy constantly talks and doesn't seem to care what I have to say. Balance is always good :)

Extremes on either end of the spectrum are really bad. I like a guy who is somewhat normal and maybe a little bit on the shy side. I don't want to force conversation out of him but I do want to be able to talk too.

Neither. In the middle is best: having enough confidence to say what he thinks, but not so talkative that he interrupts me, or doesn't listen to me, ... Silence isn't bad sometimes.

When shy guys come out of their shell everything they say is cute and special because it took so long for them to actually talk, it appears to be more important.
