On the other hand, if the asker still didn't find it clear enough, let me put it this way: I ain't got no preference when it comes to shy or confident girls. All I care about is whether or not they're willing to take my thick meat stick and ride it like a roller coaster at Disneyland! Me like all kinds of girls, shy, confident, timid, brazen, quiet, loud, as long as they know how to work that sweet kitty, me all in! But let's say me had to choose between a shy and confident girl. There’s a cute factor to shy. It makes you let your guard down and pull you into a more protective and nurturing energy. Like, “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you.”



Men tend to like feeling like a hero. Here to save the day. It makes them feel helpful and useful—which seems to be an almost universal thing for men because it’s what often gives them a sense of self-worth, purpose, and meaning. (e. g. A man may adopt the responsibility of taking care of his family, to provide and protect, as their sole purpose in life.)


But confidence is important too, in terms of not having any major insecurities that would erode the relationship.


And many other things like low self-esteem or low self-worth can all create problems in a relationship if a girl isn’t confident enough.


So, I’d say the answer is a bit of both in the right ways.


Shyness, in terms of attraction and chemistry.


Confidence, in terms of practicality and stability.


Depending on the guy, one aspect may be more attractive than the other.


(Caveat: There is also a subset of men that are specifically more attracted to women who are more confident, powerful, and stronger than they are, who enjoy being dominated by their woman—these are men that have a submissive nature which they embrace. So for these men, they would not be drawn to shy women—as they like women who can put them in their place.)

I'm kind of shy myself on the social scale, and I find it much easier to talk with a shy woman, myself.

The very confident women I've known tend to steamroller over other people, me incuded, and since I don't want to be pavement I'll try breaking the ice with someone I perceive as a bit shy.

Shyness can be over-done, though. Walking away or avoiding me when I'm walking toward her after working up the courage to do that walking doesn't work well for me. Also, being so shy that one stays home makes any possible social interaction impossible.

Everyone prefers confidence. It does not mean you are not allowed to get nervous or shy, but you not letting it hold you back too much.

Despite that, I do think you'll be fine as long as you can talk to guys who approach you. I'd even start showing guys you like signs that you like them, since this can help guys approach you. Only experience helps get rid of being shy.

Usually only Weak , unconfident, beta males prefer shy girls. If a man is more confident and outgoing, he will prefer an outgoing female. And this is just coming from a chronically shy girl. It is usually the outgoing girls that get the guys. Shy girls usually get the least guys. People like saying shy is attractive. But it is only true if you are a little shy and you can get out of your shell quick. Being terribly shy, on the verge of mute, getting anxious often will NOT get you the guy. It is always the outgoing girls that get all the guys.
Guys who say they hate outgoing confident girls tend to be beta males.

For myself confident girls. In my experience shy girls give energy as they don't want you to bother them, and don't communicate well or have very little interest in communicating which is important to me.

Confident girls give off energy that's welcoming or makes you feel welcomed in their presence and are willing to communicate with you vs a shy is like you are talking to a wall.
