Why does a woman change her hairstyle?

Ok, so I have this cursh on a girl and I suspect she knows but I'm not sure. Anyway, she changed her hairstyle recently from one without bangs to one with bangs. She looks amazing now. Although she looked very good before too.

I just wondered if there are some common reasons for why a girl would change her hairstyle? I know she's going to compete in a sports competition the next week so maybe the reason is as simple as that. What are your reasons?

All of the answers say it's to try something new from being bored and I agree that it most often is.

For me it's always been a matter of "moving on" from a certain stage in my life. I've changed my hairstyle only 2 times in the past 5 years. The first time was when I decided to stop acting childish and start being more feminine and sexy (this was in high school). I grew my hair from shoulder length to hip length. After 4 years of having very long hair I cut off 10 inches to get my hair back to shoulder length. I did this after some personal hardships involving being emotionally broken by a guy I cared for and experiencing a lot of stress trying to be perfect for everyone. So when I decided to pull myself back together, cutting my hair was the first step I took to make a change. It was also a way of reminding myself that I had to stop trying to be super feminine and sexy, because that's not who I really am

I think something simple like getting bangs wouldn't be a "moving on" kind of change.

lol...Bored, need a change, looking good lifts our spirit up. It’s our right and duty to highlight our beauty, because everyone has pretty features, it’s a matter of recognizing and showing them. Plus we wanna look good for the people we love as much as we would want them to look good for us.

And as girls, hair is one of our best features…! guys also do that stuff , it's just girls are prettier creatures :)

Wanting to try something new or different/to see how something looks/for the fun of it/hair needed to be changed due to it being dry or split ends but mostly boredom, bored with how it looks. Plus if you're not happy with your hair or its not right then it doesn't matter what else you change be it clothes or makeup they just won't look good

it's fun, usually you want a change either out of boredom, maybe something changing in life, maybe even when unhappy about something. example I was having a difficult time going through a big change so I colored my hair blonde...it was always something I was interested in but never had the guts to do it before, now I am glad I did it as I get a lot of compliments and look better than with my natural hair.

You don't understand why people change their hairstyle? Wouldn't you rather wonder about people who never ever change their hairstyle? Cause that's what I can't understand, looking the same way for years and years with no change.

Lots of reasons. She might be tired of her old look, trying to impress someone or because of a change in her life. There's no way to tell, except for asking her directly

Its called Grooming. This may come as a shock, but men do it too! especially with their beards.

Some people enjoy changing their hair, just as they enjoy changing their clothes.

I do stuff to my hair when I'm bored or angry. I have had some really horrible haircuts that were nobody's fault but my own.

if I don't feel good about myself because of something I try to get happy again. And obviously you usually feel good when you know that you're beautiful, but I think lots of woman don't see how beautiful they actually are ( that why we always think that we're too fat;) ). So in order to look even better then before we change and hope to feel better afterwards. I change my hair waaaaay too often, but I always feel better afterwards ! :)

I don't change my hair style your could say, but I do change the color. I just sort of grew up and realized I didn't like my hair color so I dyed it. As for hair styles, it depends on the weather. In winter it's usually buns or pony tails and for spring/ summer it's either pony tails or down.
