Do girls like straightforward guys?

Like if a guy just came up to you confidently and said he saw you, thought you were pretty and wanted to meet you do girls prefer that open honesty to small talk and stuff?

Absolutely. It's what separates you from the boys. Women are drawn to confidence.. I've seen many polls, even Men's Health magazines that show confidence to be the most attractive trait. Confidence is extremely sexy for both men and women. I know I love a confident woman. The point is, yes, being direct in a confident manor is attractive. Making the move to get to know a girl shows her that you're not afraid, you're comfortable in your skin, and you're not afraid of rejection. Even if you got rejected and took it well with a smile, she'll really appreciate the gesture. When you approach straight forward with a smile, eye contact etc. it shows her you're comfortable with your own skin and the people around you, comfortable in any situation, you're probably laid back, and so on. Girls don't like guys who stand by looking at a girl they like but don't know what to do about it... that's what girls do.. you're a man and men are supposed to be the rock.

Actually, I've no need for "specs"; my wife is in fact a "girl" (woman) and she claims to like "straight-forward guys". The specifics are irrelevant to the respective charade.

I meant approaching girl as a start not when you actually with a girl. You would be insane to be always always straightforward with a wife or a girlfriend

I have never been confronted in public by a guy who thought I was pretty, so this is just an assumption of what could happen.

At first I would be a little bit on the fence thinking "what if he just a player?" Or "what if this is a part of some stupid bet with his friends?" Or "what if he does mean it because he could be one of the few nice guys?" As long as I feel the guy is honest and kind I would like a straight forward guy. I would then give him my number to see if this would go anywhere, like friendship or a relationship.

One factor would be the location. If it's in a grocery store I would have a great chance of seeing their words more truthful then a guy from a club/bar. I am not trying to say that there are no creeps at grocery stores and no nice guys at clubs, it is just the likelihood.

For me personally, yes. If he is a strnger and likes me a lot, then that's weird. But if he respectfully comes up and tells me that he wants to get to know me, that's fine. I'd admire that. I know that it can be difficult to tell someone that you like them, so I'd really admire the boldness and confidence that guy has.

Somewhat, yes. But it is said that the more confident a guy is, the less he likes you. (I mean, I'd be more confident around a guy I don't want to date than I guy I do want to date). I'd prefer a happy medium: a guy coming up and talking to me, but not outright saying "I like you" because that sort of takes the fun out of flirting and all, when you know he likes you anyway.

No, definitely not. Only the context of it would make it slightly off-putting. I wouldn't say no to a guy that just went up to me and said he liked me ( I'd admire his balls in doing that, if nothing else ) but I would, honestly, be a bit suspicious of it, only because of my personal experiences.

I'm literal. I abhor small talk. I like direct-confidenc or no confidence. makes no difference to me as long as he's honest. Ill offer him the same courtesy. Which not all guys will appreciate ;p

You can be direct without being off putting. Girls like it when you are straightforward but not blunt, caveman like. Women like for men to be honest with their intentions but not the, oh I thought you were hot and I just wanted to get to know you. It's more like you talk to them for a little bit and say, I think you are someone I could be interested in dating would you like to spend more time together.

if your getting to know me, I can tell you're attracted to me, so its obviously the first. whats the problem in saying it. in my opinion i prefer people comfortable with their real intentions, not just what they want you to think their intentions are.

I'd be a little taken back to be honest, but it doesn't mean that I wouldn't like it. If they looked creepy or too old, I'd kindly tell them that I have somewhere to be, but other than that, I'd start talking :)
