Do girls like guys to be straight forward?

A few days ago, I was at the mall with a lady friend hanging out. We went to get some pretzels, and the cashier was a cute mexican-American girl; she had a very bubbly personality, which I think is very attractive. Well anyway, my friend and I got the pretzels and munched out. She wanted to go to forever 21, so I told her that I'd meet her there and I was gonna hit up Sam Goody for a few minutes. Well, instead of going to sam goodies, I went back to the pretzel stand and asked the girl out.

I basically introduced myself to her, and said "I don't know if you have a boyfriend, but I'd like to take you out to dinner soon." She was surprised by it and asked me about my lady friend. I told her that she was just a friend and I wasn't interested in her, and gave me her number.

I'm not sure if the way I asked her out was the smoothest in the world, but do girls like it when guys are straight forward with them? Even if they never met them before?

The problem with being straightforward is that women are conditioned to believe that there's always much more to what you're saying than what you're VERBALLY saying. So if you're the type of guy who likes to be up front and straight to the point, you'll find often that women will read into what you were saying as if there were some hidden meaning to it all when there is none and only complicate the communication process.

So yeah, my guess is they LIKE it, they just don't know how to deal with it.

Most girls usually like it depending on the way you do it, like if you act genuine and not sleezy etc which it looks like you nailed here!

To most girls being bold like you were conveys self-confidence without it appearing like your saying "omg look at me"

I like everyone to be straightforward. If a guy is direct, but can't handle me being direct, then I don't consider him direct. Its a false -positive. The sample is tainted with hypocrisy so you can't get a complete reading, until you test it both ways.

but yea I would not hold it against a guy for being direct- unless he was playing games ignoring me, until he was ready to ask me out - so that I could not steal his thunder in asking me out or w/e.

Yes. I absolutely cannot stand it when a guy is just beating around the bush. It comes off as playing games or just not knowing what he wants.

I can tell you from experience that there's definitely a difference for me when guys are straight forward. I like it so much better. It makes them appear confident which is very attractive and I just don't like feeling like I'm wasting my time triyng to figure out if a guy is interested in me or not

I think that was great. You asked her out in a nice way.

For me, I prefer when the guy goes straight to tell me if he likes me/wants to be my boyfriend. Being straight forward is the best way to know what the guy exactly wants, it's too much better than guessing if he is really interested or not.

Well its a good and bad thing that you had your lady friend with you. Good she's there with you because the pretzel girl doesn't feel like the only girl there (if it was a group of guys she wouldn't have anything) bad because well your with another girl (but its not a big deal if you two are friends) BUT yeah honestly yeah girls like it when your strait foward because your getting to the point ! A little advice Just don't be strait forward on your date let her do all the talking :)

I can understand what you mean about having the lady friend with me. We were just hanging out, I didn't have any intentions of going to the mall, to hit on the pretzel girl. Just one of those spontaneous things.

In my opinion, yeah, they like guys to be straight forward. Even when guys are being straight forward, they have a hard enough time understanding us (due to their obessive compulsion to over-analyse even the most basic statements).

I can't speak for all girls , but I thinks it's safe to say that most girls do . Trying to decipher messages can be difficult and stressful so telling her straight up is a good thing sometimes .
