Dreams and Reality

As darkness drew her curtains to
What I perceived as my reality
I laid my head down
Waiting on sandman to sweep
Me away to
Dreamland.
When I finally got there
A warm emotion that
I could not explain washed over me.
He told me to behold and see the nine wonders
Of the world below me.
Beyond a hill to the right
I saw a shimmering veil
And asked what that was.
He said that was the borderline between
Dreams and Reality.
If you cross that line you will
Be forever lost in the reality
That is unknown.
Looking through the veil
I saw a shadow that made me take a
Second look.
The shadow gradually started
To look like a man.
I just knew that he was everything that
I wanted and so much more.
Benevolence,
Affectionate,
And Attentive.
My heart started to beat fast,
Butterflies were in my stomach,
So many emotions came over me
I looked at sandman and said
That is what I want.
The sandman looked at me confused
And said
But I told you through that veil
Is a reality unknown to even I.
Instantaneously, I knew what I sought
And what I was required to do.
As I started towards the veil
Those emotions came over
Me again.
Everything started to shimmer
And fade away.
Darkness had opened her curtains
As I started to open
My eyes.
It was then that I
Saw him lying beside me
