Do girls prefer athletic or smart guys more?

This is something I've been wondering for awhile, assuming they're both equally attractive, would a girl go for a more athletic or smart guy?

Smart. I want someone that I can talk to intellectually on the same level as me (I am considered as being highly intelligent and no I wasn't the one to say it). I have found that people with the same intelligence level are a better match as conversation is made easier. Fortunately for me though, the guy I'm crushing on I both and HOT!

Well, I guess beauty will always be in the eyes of the beholder and in all seriousness some girls would go for athletic and some would go for intelligence. Myself, personally I love to actually maintain and hold a decent conversation.. for me it's going to be more brains over brawn.

I don't think a girl will date someone based on their nerd or jock status. Girls could prefer any guy, as long as the guy isn't a big jerk and their interests aren't either too similar or dissimilar.
I think I'd go for a smart guy, though. ^_^

Go for whoever you want. But be honest about why you're picking certain traits in a man no matter how it makes you seem to others.

The assumption that they're equally attractive is an extremely poor one, because being athletic tends to reflect both genetics around their body and how they've honed those traits.

You might as well ask if they prefer guys who are smart or athletic, assuming both are successful surgeons.

Smart guys are always sexier! :) I like guys with brains rather then game. Muscle is great but if a guy sets his mind to it, he can definitely gain some with effort. Plus, the smart guys I know all take care of health, appearance and dress well.
