This guy I have been seeing seems to really like me. He always tells me what a nice time he has with me and asks me questions about me, as well as sharing a lot about himself.

He seems to like showing me affection also. Things like holding my hand and putting his arm around me. He will always ask to make sure if I like something he's doing though.

One thing he's started doing is hug me around the waist while standing behind me. He kind of squeezes me lol.

Is this type of hug something a guy does when he is really into a girl?

Yes it is. You kind of answered the question yourself. Most guys are pretty sweet when they start off. The hugs and sweet gestures probably do mean he is trying to make a move on you ;-)
