Is it okay if girls have broad shoulders?

Question

Okay, so I have quite broad shoulders and I'm so self conscious about it, and I'm always trying to cover them but I'm still conscious of them. I have never had a boyfriend and think the main reason is because of my shoulders. I am a kick boxer so I do have muscle on them too. All the girls I see with boys have petite shoulders , which in a stupid way intimidates as I have no confidence in myself at all. So boys (and girls) is it okay to have broad shoulders for a girl?

Yes! In fact, broad shoulders are a desirable trait, and I'll tell you why.

Since I've gotten into weight lifting, I've done a lot of reading on lifting for improve body shape and overall attractiveness. One concept I see repeatedly is that of widening the shoulders to make the waist and hips seem smaller. This works for men as well as women. The eye doesn't see a person's actual size, it sees proportion. If your shoulders are wider in proportion to your lower body, they will make your waist and hips look smaller. That's why most women who are fitness competitors build their shoulders up. It gives a great hourglass shape and makes their waists look tiny.

I have a boyfriend and I have broad shoulders. Don't worry about it. Plus I've had 4 guys so far like me this year. It's not a big deal. It's def. ok. :)

I can assure you that your shoulders are NOT the reason you never had a boyfriend. At your age it's quite common to not yet have a boyfriend so don't think there's anything wrong with you. And we all do that - we find one thing we're insecure about and interpret everything through that insecurity.

If that's you in the pic, you're really attractive, pretty face, nice eyes, you look good.
I have yet to hear a guy complain about a girl's shoulders, it's not something I even notice, it's completely irrelevant. Guys focus on other things. And besides, the most desired, most womanly body type - the hourglass - comes with broad shoulders. So you have nothing to worry about.

Its fine. Swimmer and gymnasts often have broad shoulders too. Even a lot of cheerleaders have broad shoulders and they're stereotypically desirable. It's definitely not a turn off for more, but is in technically less feminine. I don't think most guys would care.

nothing wrong with broad shoulders, they even look good on some girls. Which includes you if that is you in you profile. Besides if a guy downs you for broad shoulders he doesn't deserve you in the first place.
