If he offered me a ride home could he like me?

Last Wednesday we had a lot of snow and I wasn't comfortable driving to work. I called a cab instead and asked for them to pick me up after work too. We ended up getting off an hour earlier. So i asked if I could go call a cab early and to cancel the other one. My coworker who I like (and I think is interested as well) told me not to. He said he could drive me home.

I'm kind of out of his way and it was still snowing a lot. So i said no at first but he kept insisting. So i finally agreed. I'm just wondering if this is something a guy would do for a girl he's interested in, especially if it's out of the way when it's snowing a lot. I'm seriously considering asking him out. The only problem is the last time when I thought a guy was interested, it turned out he was just being nice. It was embarrassing. I don't want to make the same mistake again, especially with a coworker.

Thanks for those who answered. I'm still not sure with him, but he got really pissed off at me because I hung out with a guy I know all weekend, and I told people at work when they asked how my weekend went. He is currently not saying much to me at the moment.

I decided to move on because of the responses to this question, and I asked out a guy I know outside of work. My co-worker is no longer speaking to me because of it. He could just be a nice, kind guy and nothing more but who knows? What was the conversation like when you both were going home? Was it friendly or flirty? Was he trying to get to know you better? Did he seem nervous or happy to be around you? Think about those things and all the other interactions you've had, then maybe you'll be able figure it out. But offering you a ride, even when insisting, doesn't say much. Oh and please don't ask him out! If he wanted to go out with you, he would have asked you while he had you alone in that car.

In my personal opinion, if you work closely with him on a daily basis, I'd get a little flirty with him and see how he responds. You can easily back off if he doesn't seem into it and save some face, And if he responds well then I'd keep working your seductive ways and get him coming after YOU for a date.

Well yes he is being nice and does care about otherwise he wouldn't, if you like like him you need to sort of show him that without pushing it too hard.

Spend some time after work with him and get to know him better, don't just into a relationship because that way you could push him away completely, offer to give him a ride home occasionally and car share to "save fuel" but really you spend more time with him

Get to know him, flirt with him give him chance to ask you out because that's how it should be

Hopefully he will pick up on the hints and ask you, I hope it all works out for you

Him and I have an actual history together. There are other signs too but I would written a novel if I had added them all. So i just went with the latest one. I know if I wasn't interested in someone I wouldn't offer them a ride if it was out of my way. He did it in a snow storm when the roads were bad.

The first girl I ever went out with I gave her a ride home so i could get her address. That was 1985 so there was no internet. I had to look her up in the white pages to get her phone number. Well people try not to touch each other at work. There's a lady there that likes to report things that mean nothing. But yeah if I'm talking to another guy he tries to get in the conversation in a subtle way. He doesn't interrupt but he'll try to find an opening. He looks away when he's angry. When people are joking around and he laughs he looks to me first. We always race walk out of the building together.

It turns out he was interested, but I messed that up. I decided to move on after reading this question and I asked someone else out. I told a female co-worker about it, and she went and told him. He was actually planning on asking me out in the car but he chickened out. He was worried about making things awkward at work. I guess things will be now though. I know the difference between a smile and everything else. Him and I have a bit of a history. We joke around all the time with each other. We split the cost on certain things. He got really pissed off when I mentioned that I was hanging out with a guy this weekend. If I talk to other male co-workers he gets pissed off about it. We joke around all the time. We joked with people that we both missed work on Monday because we were together. We talked about what our plans were for the future in the car and our interests. I try not to let coworkers know that kind of thing.
