Why affectionate one day and the next not?

Is it normal with guys in general that you can be extremely affectionate one day and then the next just be like whatever...and if so why is that?

Well, I have been with this guy for 3 years and it's not like he's completely unaffectionate just some days he is way over the top and then others he's I guess you could say acting normal, still making out and everything just other days he wants to cuddle

If it was a first date he might of just wanted sex.

He might be confused

He might of made a mistake

He Might not really like you
