i smile at him too and he's caught me peeking at him...ill go ask him a stupid question next week

Have you sent him any signals or actual interaction that makes it safe for him to approach you?

Think about it, lets say you find a hot guy attractive but he hasn't given you a smile or any gestures. Would you, after sitting in the same spot each class, sit next to him and make it obvious you are trying to talk to him?

Lets say he throws you a smile... does it mean he's being friendly, interested, gay, happy, sad, emotional?

After class, ask him questions about class and see if conversation goes anywhere.
