What exactly is the "Bro Code"?

I always hear about it, but i have never really understood what the "Bro Code" is. What exactly are your sacred rules in this?

Good question! It's similar to girl code :P

It's basically an honour code between guys, like if your guy friend said he was interested in going out with a girl, you wouldn't go straight out and ask her out. You'd also not banter about her in a way your guy friend (or her) wasn't comfortable with. You wouldn't tell her some of the disgusting stuff he gets up to. EVER.

Depending on the relationship between bros, getting with someone's ex is often off limits. I personally think that depends on how the relationship ended, and how long ago, as you might really like your mates ex, a couple of years later.

You know how in girl code, if a girl had some sort of relationship with a guy, and that relationship ended, it's the female friend's job to say that it was the guys falt, no matter what (which is sometimes crap, btw), it's the same sort of thing. Or when you just don't discuss guys in front of other guys. Same again.

And we have a rule that when at a line of urinals, you always stare dead ahead, whereas I've heard you girls share cubicals? Odd in my opinion

I don't believe it actually exists, as a singular thing, i think what exists instead is thousands of derivatives of the same sorta morals, reasoning and logic.

i've heard of girl code and i assume it to be just as generalized, vague, inaccurate, and essentially useless for an individual situation as the guy code would be.

a human brain is complex, two brain that like each other is pushing the limits of sanity. never try simplify this kind of complexity.

if you like a woman, she is off limits to your friends. Doesn't matter if she like you or not, of if she wants to date you or not.
if you both like a woman (say see her at the same time or close to it) then you might both try for her. whoever she seems to have more of an interest in, the other friend (s) back off...
