Guys, do male teacher find their female students attractive?

I am currently in 12th grade at my school, and I was wondering if male teachers "check out" their female students, even if they're married or have a girlfriend. I ask this because I notice that sometimes, some of my male teachers flirt with the "popular" female students and it gets really weird.

I used to teach. Yes, I found some of my students attractive (high school, some college and grad school). I don't think there is anything wrong with that, biology is biology. But I considered it extremely unprofessional to show any indication of that to a student.

So I flirted with all of the girls ;)

But seriously, it's inappropriate, unprofessional, and entirely out of place. Being friendly with students is fine, but outright flirtatious behavior, particularly with certain students, crosses a line in my opinion.

Absolutely not.

I'm there (or was, I no longer teach) in a professional capacity. I'm not going to do something to compromise my legal or professional standing in any way. Even my reputation aside, I'd consider it morally scandalous. Under no circumstances would I indicate interest to a student or treat them differently than any other student.

If a student was interested in me (and this was something I had to deal with from time to time), I'd be certain not to give them occasion to be alone with me, and if necessary, I'd tell other teachers about the student's interest to have backup in the event the student or her family were to make any kind of accusation.

K-12 students especially are not anywhere close to being on even grounds with a teacher. I could read my students like a book. A teacher being involved with a student is very correctly considered illegal, in my opinion.

Thank you for that! I have this teacher who is flirting with girls. He constantly tells them (in a weird tone) to pull up their shirts because he can see their cleavage. He comments on girls shirts sometimes and it seems like it's just an excuse to stare at their boobs. One time in class, someone farted. It smelled weird. So the teacher told one of the girls to close her legs. There is so much more to this, but this is a lot of it.

His comments seem very inappropriate to me. I'm not sure if he's trying to be flirtatious or behave poorly though--he may just have extremely weak social skills and isn't aware of how the things he says are being interpreted (I've known some teachers with worse social awareness than their students). Still, especially if his tone of voice is unclear, I do think his comments are unprofessional.

What he should do is inform an administrator or guidance counselor of his opinion on a student's dress and let them handle it (unless the student is behaving inappropriately and he's forced to say something at that time).

Again, I'm not there to hear his tone of voice, but I do think he is being very inappropriate, especially that last example you gave--that one is hard for me to find a more innocent excuse for. Have students spoken to anyone about him?

Yes, definitely. I don't think it's possible not to. I was a teacher for awhile, and worked with 15-17 year olds. And so many of the girls are so developed, etc. and couple that with the way they dress, and forget is.

I am a teacher, and on the times i have found a female student attractive i have never acted differently with her.

That's a hard thing to do. I worked for impartiality as well, but I know, looking back, that I gave more attention and time to the girls. But my situation was a bit different. I was a driving instructor. And, I found that the boys were so shy or withdrawn, and answered with few words or a grunt, in the car. But the girls, especially after some times as they felt comfortable with me, would open up and talk about their lives, etc. It was neat to make a connection with that age group. But I was only a young 27 -29 myself. There was one girl, though, who really had the hots for me.

If that is directed at me, no. I couldn't think of a young girl in my care in that manner, it would be wrong

Yes be very careful. I know a girl who encountered a teacher in school who kept asking her for nudes and stuff.

Rarely. Most have professional standards or realize that they are teaching people making the people they are teaching infinitely dumber than they are. That's just not attractive.

it depends on how old they are. if they're 40+ they probably see you more as just a kid.

but if a girl is hot the teacher is only human so he'll probably find her attractive.
