If a guys always looks down when he sees you, does it mean anything?

There's this guy that whenever I'm in his presence or in front of him he like puts his head down, or goes the other direction. Today right when he saw me walking in the direction toward him he immediately put his head down. does it mean anything?

(I used to like him, still do, and he used to like me I believe, and we never told eachother , however we went through a rough patch, and haven't spoken at all.)

I saw him looking at me but then second I turned around he looked straight down. I should probably have stated that first!

He feels awkward around you. He probably still likes you but he's very shy and insecure and is afraid of making eye contact with you because he thinks you'll think he's weird or get angered by it for some reason. I know this because I'll look down when I start to make eye contact with a girl all the time. And I often have no rational reason doing so other than being shy.

Does this also count when he doesn't really look down but just looks away? Like when he tries to ignore you

Maybe he's shy to look you into the eyes and when he walks away like that maybe he doesn't feel comfortable being around you.
