Guy's Behavior

When someone gets physically close to you, does it mean they like you? How do I show him that I like him back?

I was hanging out a guy's house and we were just chilling on the sofa. Each seat of sofa had the ability to recline if you wanted to with a footrest. After about 10 minutes of each sitting in our reclined seats, he moved and put his head right next to where my legs were and the rest of his body was laying across the rest of the sofa. Why would move from his reclining seat to something that looked less comfortable? Was he trying to send a sign by getting physically closer to me?

I kind of freaked out and didn't do anything or say anything special, we just kept talking. I like him too though so what do I do next to show him that I like him back?
