Why do guys keep your number saved in their phone?

I noticed that guys tend to hold onto numbers for long after your relationship ends. why is that? do you just not feel the need to delete numbers out of your phone or do you think you'll need us again?

I have numbers in my phone from years back, people I haven't seen and ex's. It's just a phone number, you must have to actively care about it being in your phone to go through and remove it. I'm sure for most people they just don't bother deleting it. Seems it's a 'thing' for you, something which helps you process the end of a relationship, well I don;'t think that's a 'thing' for everyone.

for some, it's for the sake of having girls in their contacts to show off to their mates. for others, it could be that he misses her. for others, he may want to just revenge by using her number somehow.

I don't know, i guess there's a few possibilities, some more heartless than others.

Because they don't care about what numbers they have on their phone and are too lazy to start going through it, just to delete people they're not talking to anymore.

Guilty! I have year worth of phones numbers accumulated in my contacts and cloud.

With the ability to search through your contacts when calling a #, combined with extremely high storage for contacts in phones these days,

I never clean it out. I just search the number I want, dial it/text it, and continue with life.

@Prof_Don same here. I don't have that many contacts on my phone (just checked - 53) and I don't even talk to like a third of them anymore. Even though I don't have a huge list to skim through, I'm too lazy to delete them. I don't care, they're not bothering me, so why make an effort just to get rid of them lol :p

What do you mean by "relationship ends"? Deleting a phone number because you aren't having sex anymore seems kinda shallow to me.

Unless you've had some big fight there's only one reason to delete phone numbers, and that is when your new girlfriend wants you to.

Mostly because we don't care. I can delete it if I want, but I'll remember the number anyways. Doesn't really change anything. Plus sometimes I like to message my ex and ask how her life turned out. Then my girlfriend and I laugh about it.
