Same goes with pants that show your ankles + high socks. Just looks ugly. Like if you're wearing capris or those cargo pants that go just over your knee, then don't wear normal socks please. Wear ankle socks.

I actually think it's a hot look. My boyfriend wears his socks and sandals like that, I mean he does play basketball and football so it's a easy change afterwards into those.
