What is the difference between a taper haircut and fade?

im still confused on whats the difference, also do taper sizes have the same size as the clippers?

In fade, hair is cropped from all sides with hair at the top also being on the shorter side.

In taper, hair at the top is long and decreases in size as we move down sides and back of the head.

Taper aren't "guards" but a certain "look" to your hair man.

Now most clippers have "taper levers" on them... the farther you pull the lever back = the less it will cut "length-wise".

Same people use "guards" while pulling the lever back while others free hand that shit. Same effect tho ^_^
