Should I break up with my boyfriend if we want different things in life?

So me and my boyfriend been dating for a year and a half and we love each other. I can't picture my life without him. And he thinks the same. He recently let down a scholarship to study abroad so we didn't have to break up. So you would think he sees the relationship as a long term thing. But the thing is that we want different things in life. I want a family and he says he don't want to get married or maybe not even have kids. So it makes me think I'm wasting my time with him. I am not a little girl anymore and I think my relationships should be serious at this point in life. I don't want to tell him nothing because I don't want him to feel like I pressure him. You think I should break it off right now before we both waste more time in the relationship? I'm so confused and don't know what to do...

You both are thinking the other person will change their mind. What you will probably find though is neither one of you will and you will just break up further down the road. Before you get anymore invested I would suggest breaking up. I know it seems easier said than done but you can't keep fooling yourself that "everything will be okay" in the end when clearly you both want different things.

I think you guys should talk about it first and tell him exactly how you feel about it. If he feels the same way it will be mutual and then you guys can decide what to do from there

Have you told him how important it is...like its a matter of staying together or breaking up...if he knows you are that serious about it...he just might change his mind on whether or not he wants to talk about it
