Why is he so interested in my love life?

So there's this guy who I'm kind of friends with. We work together and are good work friends, but never hang out outside of work. I used to have this really big crush on him and we would flirt with each other all the time, until he got back together with his ex. Now I'm over it and have moved on to other guys. He keeps talking to me about my love life though and always says that he wants me to find someone. It feels weird since we really aren't that close of friends (which was one of the reasons it was pretty easy to get over him). Why is he so interested?
