Why do black men appreciate plus sized women more than white men do?

This has been something I've observed for quite a while now. I am a plus sized girl, and I'm working on on losing the weight. However, when it comes to male attention, I've found white men to be disrespectful and rude, to put it nicely. They go out of their way to make me feel inferior compared to my skinnier friends. I've been so hurt that it has gotten to the point where I have difficulty making eye contact with them.

This has NEVER been the case with African American men. They are always polite and complimentary confidence boosters, and I've noticed that quite frequently, they will choose a girl on the curvier side. It is delightful and refreshing to be in their company. Why is this? Has anyone else noticed this?

Every guy is different but their women seem to more voluptuous and fuller than the Nordic skinny and tall Caucasian girls. I'm not being racist and there are exceptions to the rule, but a majority of African American guys say they like a girl with meat on her bones and are accepting of different body types and races than Caucasisn men. A black guy has no trouble dating a plus sized woman, a Hispanic, Asian, white, skinny or middle eastern woman while white guys are more selective on their women and date mainly white girls. This does not go for all guys but a majority of them do follow that trend. I will have to agree with you. Black guys are far more accepting of different kinds of women in my experience while white guys were cold and mean towards me because I'm not white and skinny and would ignore me completely while talk to my friend who's white flirtatiously. Black guys would ignore my friend and talk to me flirtatiously, and express disbelief when I reveal that I'm not used to guys talking/flirting with me, saying that they're stupid for disregarding me and that they always liked girls who were a bit meatier.

I certainly cannot speak for all black men (especially since I am not a black man), but I believe it's because 1) black women are typically curvier than white women 2) it is custom/praised to be thick on the black community (not fat but just thicker than basically skin and bone). Even in non American African cultures, you'll be told that you need some meat on your bones. 3) The black community is generally accepting of bodies.

Just from personal experience, growing up with white friends. They all obsessed over being skinny amd starved themselves to stay skinny and would tell already skinny people they were fat. If white guys grow up around skinny white girls who say themselves that they meed to be skinny then that's most likely what they'll belive. For me, one the black side, I've mostly heard things about being too skinny. I think it's due to a difference in culture/enviroment. Don't get me wrong, some black people definitely do reject after a certain point of fatness but it's generally seen as approate to be "thick" and "curvy". A curvacious / thick body is also tied to fertility.

i'm African and that's true! my curvier sister gets soo much more attention from somali guys than i do (im slim) it's pretty stupid because most somalis, both guys and girls, are freaking skinny! i was told it's because during sex, two skinny people can't have a good time since two sticks rubbed together make a fire haha so they want some cushion. i don't care though, i'm sure the westernized ones like slimmer girls.

Because black men are actually taught to reaowct and love women. But also someone told me because actually their mothers are usually heavier women and they love their mothers and that's what they're used to and what's comfortable to them.

As you've guessed, it's a cultural thing. There are cultures in Africa in areas that are subject to periodic famines, where *hugely* obese women are prized. Undoubtedly some of the enslaved people came from these regions and retained their cultural norms to some degree. An AA friend of mine insists that pork is "filthy" and won't eat it, but neither he nor his family are religious. His great, great... grandfather undoubtedly was an African Muslim (or maybe a Jew of course) and the dietary teaching was handed down.

The reason is that white men (or men with caucasian/caucasoid features in general) are considered more physically attractive than black men in general. White men also have status advantage which puts them at the top of the food chain of all men in terms of mate selection. So they have the ability to be more picky with women, all men like curvy women, but almost no men like fat women. And some of you are trying to convince yourselves that you are curvy when you are in fact fat. Someone like Salma hayek is curvy, or jennifer lopez.

Black men do not like fat women either, but if the black guy does not have high status, is mixed race and thus more physically attractive than a pure black, then his choice of women to date will be limited, especially if he wants to date interracial, which many want to do partially because of social conditioning, so sometimes a black man will settle for a fat non-black woman because he can't get something better unless he goes for a woman of his own race.

Maybe it's because that's what we're used to seeing while growing up aka big bloated whales? While for white guys, on the other hand, they're using to seeing a stick thin white girl (no ass nor titties just bones hahahaha).

But I usually like chubbier girls simply because their bodies will be softer and look more "inviting" (as long as they have some kind of a feminine physique) when compared to a slimmer girl.

they seem to even over here, this coming from a skinny chick growing up where my mom tried to force feed me so i can gain weight to catch a man ahahah what's rare is preferred, that's the case here at least. skinny chicks are a dime a dozen but phat asses are less common and idealized.

thats obviously not the case in america considering being overweight is much more common over there but the apple doesn't fall far from the tree..

Look lets go back to the stone ages.

African people where always encountered in danger, lions, malaria, just nasty stuff and shenanigans, that's why women had to become strong and durable in a sense that reproduction (not being sexist here, just taking a scientific outcome with this) was more accesible, thats why normally African American search for bigger women as they got more durability than your normal skinny white girl. I could be wrong, they all could be just jerks, but who knows?
