What does it mean when a guy touches your hips/waist?

My friend has been doing this increasingly more lately. Even when he has enough room to get by he will softly touch my hips. He will just caress them and then keep moving. Sometimes he will also touch the small of my back, occasionally he will make kiss noises at me. Im not sure as he's my friend if i need to read into this. This touch seems very different though, and I don't want to act on it and lose a friend over it. Is this still just friend touching or has this progressed?

Hard to tell. I'd personally wouldn't touch a women unless we both are completely comfortable around each other. If I want to let her know I care I look into her eyes and listen to everything she says. If he touches the booty he definitely wants more.

He has more than friend interest in you. If you like him that way as well go ahead and flirt him back if not tell him to stop, or just make it clear that you're not into him like that.
