Oh here's the easy answer to that, Mankind is a superficial, materialistic, insecure, judgmental, fearful, being. We live in a world were we truly believe bigger is better, More is better, money brings success. Since the dawn of time, everything we did was based on a class system, and that's how we determine success. Guys put a number value on a girl simply based on appearance, women put value on a guy based on how he dresses... Have you ever see a group of guys out 4-5 deep and all night all they do is look at pretty girls and no one attempts to approach one...why insecurity , and ladies are no different, they see a guy and they don't approach because they think this guy is soo hott that he must already have tons of girls, why insecurity... and it's all based on looks, we put sooooo much value on looks... Not one person has ever said, "Bill Gates, he's out of my league". Gilbert Godfrey is out of my league etc... Listen to that outkast song "Roses"... Their "roses" really smell like ooh ooh ooh, they are not better than u, me, him, she, them. And if you were to sit down and listen to some of these 9's and 10's speak, you would be sooo surprised as to who's really outside who's league.

I don't believe in leagues. I believe that anyone can be with anyone. With celebrities they are bombarded everyday. They really can't really get to know some fan. That doesn't mean if they did they couldn't be a perfect match. There's plenty of high class people who have dated "nobodies" No one should consider themselves out of anyone's league. If the other person claims they are out of there league then forget them who would want to be with someone like that.

Disagree mainly due to studies having been done on the correlation between professions and relationship length. The strong trend is that it starts out well and then it doesn't last long because inadequacy seeps in subconsciously.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love for it to be this way where anybody can date anybody. Sometimes though, whichever way you slice it, it won't result in a long term happy marriage.

Funnily enough, leagues actually do exist. It's better described as equity; what each person brings to the relationship. Whilst one person may be better in one area they make up for another; so where one person is incredibly attractive the other person could be a fantastic listener or great at being affectionate.

The problems occur when there's a major imbalance. For example, he's a sucessful, multimillionaire doctor who does modelling on the side - how are you going to balance that, exactly? You can't. It's why girls won't be happy with Prince Charming for long unless they're already a princess.

Go for anybody you're attracted to but I guarantee you that your relationship will last longer with the waitress down the road than the superstar from far away.

I agree with you mostly. Besides the doctor part. What does that tell about the guy? He's rich and good looking? So? He could be the biggest asshole ever. It can be balanced. When it boils down to it. A firm relationship won't be built on looks or money. That doctor is just as likely to marry another millionaire or doctor as marring a doctor. Looks and money only get you through the door.

It's to reinforce how an unbalanced relationship won't function. Being a doctor is a respected profession in society and was the first thing to spring to mind. Other than that, it doesn't have any specific meaning.

Because people put limits on themselves. Even I do. I often feel I will never find anyone attractive who will like me back. But I just think to myself someone will. I don't know who, but there is someone out there for me, and whoever that is will come into my life sooner or later, and it won't matter who is in what league.

Life isn't a movie. That migh twork in school, but in the real world classes do exist. You won't see politicians mingling with working class. Pop stars don't hang out with Students( unless the star is a guy)

He doesn't sell jeans. He RUNS a company that sells jeans. Totally different. I don't know what's his anually income, but I don't suppose he was having a financial crisis when he met Alessandra. And I don't know how he met Alessandra either, but I don't suppose he approached her in the middle of the street. Maybe he hired her, maybe it was at a restricted party? All I know is today she's out of my league.
