Guys, Does he like me or feel sorry for me?

There is this guy at work, and I like him. But I get really nervous around him, and I think he can tell and thinks I'm weird. He's always staring at me as if he's observing me, but doesn't really smile at me, even if I smile first.
A few days ago we were chatting and I was having a bad day (I have anxiety, some days are worse than others) and I was so awkward. I barely could contribute to the conversation. He asked me what I did over the weekend and I told him that I went out to dinner at this fancy place, and he asked me if I like that kind of food.. I said "yes", but nothing else, and he was like studying me probably because he could tell I was nervous.

Now he keeps staring at me even more than before and he always looks at me before he leaves for the day.

Is he wondering what the fuck is wrong with me?

Honestly, there is really only one way to find out if he likes you or not.
Which is to just be upfront with him and ask him out first.

I can't honestly say.
He could just be being polite from what you have mentioned in the OP, but then again for you to like him there must have been prior conversations. The thing that sort of hints that he may like you, is that he searches you out before he leaves.

Though, sometimes you have to put yourself out there, to figure out if he does or not for certain.
And if it turns out he doesn't, then really that's his loss.

Because at the end of the day if someone doesn't like you, for you, then are they really worth your time?
